Dragonfly Checks

The dragonfly is an interesting little creature, and I have come to believe that our fascination is due to their fleeting habit and our not being able to get a good look at them, much like Hummingbirds. They remind us of water and fairies and mystical things. They seem cute and the image of a dragonfly appears on a wide variety of products from children’s pajama’s to our topic here, personal checks. Dragonfly Checks

Dragonfly personal checks feature dragonflies fluttering on pastel shaded backgrounds that look as though they have been painted with watercolors. The four rotating designs with dragonflies on each check, were created by artist Linda Hutchinson. Coordinating checkbook cover and address labels available.

Many cultures across the world consider dragonflies evil, while others, like Native Americans, have a different view of them. They are a symbol of renewal after times of trouble, represent swiftness and activity and symbolize pure water. These are most likely the reasons that our view of them is so sweet.

You really should go read more about dragonflies. The scope of our topic, dragonfly checks, doesn’t allow for more information here. One interesting fact that I would like to share though, is that some species remain in their larval state up to 5 years before getting their wings!

Dragonfly checks are very popular in personal bank checks. Some sets contain only dragonflies, while others listed here have a dragonfly on only one of their rotating images. Enjoy your hunt for your favorite!

All Creatures Checks

Brown spots dot the white wings of the dragonflies on this personal check and are bordered in brown. This dragonfly check is one of four rotating designs that also includes butterflies, ladybugs and a honey bee.

Heart and Dragonfly Checks

Artist Pepper Tharp brings dragonflies and hearts together on two of the designs in this series of dragonfly checks. The other two rotating designs feature butterflies and lightening bugs. These love bugs have coordinating address labels and a pink checkbook cover with dragonflies.

Gentle Inspirations

Master painter Josephine Alexander wants to gently inspire you each and every day as you write checks. One design of four has a dragonfly with iridescent wings, floating above a gray background and the word enthusiasm written off to the side. The other designs feature a heart (passion), a dove (love), and a butterfly (joy).
